Anonymizer

With the Anonymiser feature, if you have strict privacy rules, you can create rules to anonymise different types of information about your contacts as soon as they unsubscribe, bounce or submit spam complaints. In most cases, there is no need to keep these contacts' data indefinitely.

A contact may become anonymised once a contact becomes a member of (one of) the following groups:

  • Unsubscribers
  • Soft bounce (def)
  • Hard bounce (def)
  • Spam complaints

Spotler MailPro performs anonymisation every night around midnight. All contacts that have been in the selected group(s) for a certain number of days are anonymised. The Anonymizer feature can be configured per campaign.

It is configurable which fields besides the contact's e-mail address are anonymised. Anonymised contacts are given an address namely: recipient_[recipient_id]@example.com:

Important: If a contact is anonymised, the original e-mail address is unknown. Therefore, make sure that unsubscribed/announced/confirmed addresses are not re-imported! They become new records and can be emailed again.
